The balance

The metal discs on the beam can be brought to rotation around the vertical axis of the balance passing through the centre of the mass. The difference in speed in the east-west direction is the greatest when the position of the beam has a north-south direction, therefore the difference in weight will be the greatest in this position, the masses will tilt in turns. However this tilt is not so significant to observe with naked eye. | Next | ||
